Baked Pork Chops
For this recipe I wanted to work with a food that we have not used yet. Pork chops are pretty easy to cook and inexpensive to buy. This recipe can be made with a limited budget and time. You will need:
Pork Chops (I used boneless pork loin chops)
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of seasoned salt
1/4 cup of all purpose flour
2 cups of Italian-style seasoned bread crumbs
4 tablespoons of olive oil
1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup of milk
1/3 cup of white cooking wine
Start off by washing the pork chops and patting them dry. You will need a three bowl system in order to pull off the next step. One bowl will have the flour, the next will have the beaten eggs, and the third will contain the bread crumbs. Take the pork chop and lightly dust it with the flour, and then coat it with the egg. Place the pork chop in the bowl with the bread crumbs and turn it until the pork chop is liberally coated. Take a sauce pan and place the oil in it and heat it to medium high heat. Fry the pork chops until both sides are browned.
Place the fried pork chops into a baking pan and cover with aluminum foil. Bake them in the oven for an hour at 350 degrees. While they are baking you can mix the ingredients to make the gravy that goes on top. In a medium bowl, mix the soup, milk, and cooking wine. After the pork chops have baked for an hour, take them out of the oven and pour the gravy mixture on top. Replace the foil and cook for another 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and enjoy.
This recipe is delicious. The pork was very tender and the gravy provided an extra zest that enhanced the flavor. I served the dish on top of a bow-tie pasta, that took all of 15 minutes to prepare. It was a very easy meal to prepare, although the cooking time is significant. Give this easy recipe a try and let us know how you liked it.
